Ringo Studio was responsible for creating the design of a temporary set installation dedicated to filming exercise video content for Google Fitbit. The set seeks to reflect the brand’s well known qualities of refined simplicity and uncomplicated technology. Its design is expressed by a soft, curved backdrop that serves as a flexible surface for the interplay of light. At eye level, an opening within the curve serves as the focal point, mimicking an opening to the exterior, allowing for a dynamic range of lighting configurations to shine through. The light changes depending on each type of exercise being showcased. Whether it’s the warm glow of sunrise for yoga sessions, energizing blue hues for cardio workouts, or calming cool tones for meditation routines, the lighting synchronizes with the content and enhances the immersive quality of each fitness video. The set’s soft, rounded edges contribute to its visual appeal and act as a light-amplifying surface, bouncing and diffusing the illumination throughout the space. The subtlety of the design ensures that the architecture itself doesn’t distract from the exercise content, but rather complements and elevates it, creating an immersive and inspiring environment for users to embark on their fitness journeys.
